If People Do Not Accept Islam, Their Children May Understand
Islam Spreads Over Time
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ compared guidance to planting seeds that grow over generations. He said:
“This matter (Islam) will reach wherever the night and day reach.”
(Musnad Ahmad 16957)
Even if some people reject Islam today, it may reach their children or future generations.
Children Can Accept Truth Even If Parents Reject It
Allah says in the Quran:
“And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: ‘Follow our way, and we will bear your sins.’ But they will not bear anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars.”
(Surah Al-Ankabut 29:12)
This means that faith is a personal journey—even if parents reject the truth, their children have the chance to accept it.
Examples from History
- Prophet Ibrahim (AS) rejected his father’s idol worship despite growing up in a polytheistic society.
- The son of Prophet Nuh (AS) refused to believe, even though his father was a prophet.
- Many people initially opposed Islam, but their children later became great Muslim leaders.
The Prophet’s Optimism About Future Generations
The Prophet ﷺ gave hope that Islam would continue to spread even if some people reject it initially. He said:
“This religion will continue to prevail until the traveler moves between distant lands fearing none but Allah.”
(Sahih Muslim 2889)
This means that Islam will keep spreading, and future generations may embrace it.
Allah’s Mercy for Future Generations
Even if parents do not accept Islam, their children may receive guidance through different means. Allah says:
“And those who strive for Us—We will surely guide them to Our ways.”
(Surah Al-Ankabut 29:69)
This proves that those who seek the truth will eventually find it.
Conclusion
- If people reject Islam, their children or future generations may recognize the truth.
- History proves that faith spreads across generations.
- Islam continues to grow, and Allah’s guidance reaches those who sincerely seek it.
