<p>Kerala police has arrested five persons after revelations by a girl of repeated sexual abuse against her to Child Welfare Committee in Pathanamthitta. An 18-year-old girl alleged that over 60 persons sexually abused her over past five years. The case came to light after the girl revealed that she had been abused since the age of 13 to the Child Welfare Committee.</p>
<p>Based on the information of Child Welfare officials, the police have registered a case and have identified at least 62 perpetrators involved in the series of crime, as per a report on The Hindu. The police also registered a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case against 40 individuals. Later, the police also arrested five persons in connection with the incident.</p>
<p>According to the survivor, the series of incidents started when she was first exposed to pornographic videos by a neighbour on his phone in Chenneerkkara. She alleged that the accused then abused her by taking her to an isolated hill near her house. She alleged that he later made his friends take advantage her.</p>
<p>Apart from the neighbour and his friends, she was reportedly abused by her trainers providing her athletic coaching and also by a few of her classmates, as per a report on Deccan Herald. </p>
<p>Following this, the police have formed a special investigation team to probe the case. </p>
