A woman and her partner from Cornwall have been sentenced to prison for plotting to drug and rape her six-year-old daughter. The couple, whose identities are being withheld to protect the victim, were sentenced at Plymouth Crown Court on Friday, August 30. The woman, from East Cornwall, received a 17-year prison sentence, while the man, from North Cornwall, was sentenced to 13 years. The housing of Central Industrial Security Forces, deployed at the hospital where the shocking rape-murder of a doctor took place last month, appears set to be the next flashpoint between Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP. The Bombay High Court had expressed serious concern about the flaws in the implementation of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
