Voting will take place on November 13 from 7 AM to 5 PM, with some booths closing earlier at 4 PM. A total of 683 candidates are contesting, including 334 independents and 87 from national parties. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over his “vote jihad” remarks, claiming the BJP leader’s (ideological) ancestors wrote “love letters” to the British instead of fighting against them. Kashmir Police have asked trekkers to inform police in advance about their routes after two trekkers were caught in an encounter between terrorists and security forces at Zabarwan near Srinagar yesterday. The trekkers were rescued after they dialled 100 and informed cops. “Trekkers and adventure enthusiasts should inform the nearest police station about their travel plans and expected routes, especially in areas where there could be security operations.
