“Code Names In Series Reflect…”: Netflix On ‘IC 814’ Web Series Row

Netflix India has updated the opening disclaimer on its web series ‘IC-814 Kandahar Hijack” to include the real and code names of the hijackers, the OTT giant’s country content chief, Monika Shergill, said Tuesday. “For the benefit of audiences unfamiliar with the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814, the opening disclaimer has been updated… the code names in the series reflect those used during the actual event,” Ms Shergill said, acknowledging also that Netflix is “committed to showcasing (stories from India) with authentic representation”. Australia Sends Its First Combat Aircraft Deployment In India For ‘Tarang Shakti’ Exercise

<p>The Royal Australian Air Force has sent its first deployment of combat aircraft to India to participate in the second phase of ‘Tarang Shakti’, a multinational exercise which is being held at the Air Force Station Jodhpur from August 30 to September 13. The ‘Aparajita Woman and Child (West Bengal Criminal Laws Amendment) Bill’, which seeks the death penalty for convicts in rape and murder cases or in cases of rape where the victim is left in a vegetative state, was passed through a voice vote in the state Assembly on Tuesday. Sunken Village Emerges Amidst Greece’s Record Drought

Record-breaking temperatures and prolonged drought in Greece have exposed a sunken village in Athens’ main reservoir for the first time in 30 years. The village of Kallio was submerged in the late 1970s when the Mornos dam was built 200 kilometres (124 miles) west of the capital, the artificial lake fed by the Mornos and Evinos rivers.
