The Union Cabinet has cleared the ‘one nation, one election‘ proposal that will eventually see simultaneous voting for state and union governments, as well as urban bodies or panchayats. The Cabinet on Wednesday accepted the report of the panel led by former President Ram Nath Kovind that said there is “unanimous” support for the ‘one nation, one election’ idea. A 33-year-old Rajasthan bureaucrat died last night due to negligence by doctors, her relatives have alleged. Priyanka Bishnoi, who was posted as sub-divisional magistrate in Jodhpur, died at a hospital in Ahmedabad two weeks after she underwent a surgery at a hospital in Jodhpur. Her death has sparked anger among the Bishnoi community and her relatives have demanded a police case against the owner of the Jodhpur hospital and the doctors. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has slammed rivals YSR Congress and his predecessor, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, over a lab report about animal fats in ghee used to make laddoos offered as prasadam, or devotional offerings, at the temple town of Tirupati.
