Savitri Jindal, 2 Independent MLAs Likely To Back BJP In Haryana

Three Independent Haryana MLAs, including India’s richest woman Savitri Jindal, are likely to extend support to the BJP government in the state. Ms Jindal, Devender Kadyan and Rajesh Joon will meet the BJP high command and the state election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan today. Ms Jindal, who had earlier been a minister in the last Congress government in the state, won from the Hisar seat. She had won the Hisar twice earlier – in 2005 and 2009. The BJP pulled a surprise victory in the Haryana elections yesterday to return to power for a historic third time in a row. UNESCO Inviting Applications For Al Fozan International Prize

UNESCO has invited nominations from eligible applicants for the second edition of UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for the Promotion of Young Scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The prize is awarded every two years to five talented young people for their contributions to research, education or scientific cooperation.  The laureates will each receive USD 50,000, to help launch their careers and share their ideas more widely. The candidate must be under the age of 40, from each of UNESCO’s five geographic regions. “Will Inform Election Body About Complaints”: Rahul Gandhi On Haryana Loss

The Congress is analysing the Haryana results and will inform the Election Commission about the complaints it had received over the counting process, said Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi this morning, in his first remarks since his party’s shocking defeat in the state elections. “We are analysing the unexpected results of Haryana.
