Atomic Bomb Survivors, 2024 Nobel Peace Prize Winners, Warn Of Nuclear War Risk

Leaders of the group of atomic bomb survivors awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize emphasised on Saturday the present risk from nuclear weapons and renewed their call to abolish nuclear weapons. “There is currently a risk of nuclear war… we must eliminate that risk,” Terumi Tanaka, the co-head of the Nihon Hidankyo group said at a press conference, without specifying any countries. In awarding the survivors, the Nobel Prize committee highlighted the Japanese group’s decades-long work to rid the world of nuclear weapons.

Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, who was President Vladimir Putin’s top political opponent before his death in February, believed he would die in prison, according to his posthumous memoir which will to be released on October 22. India’s Food Habits Found Most Sustainable Amongst Major Economies, Says WWF Report

<p><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>A recent report found that the food consumption patterns in India are the most sustainable amongst the major economies in the world. The report titled, &lsquo;Living Planet Report 2024&rsquo;, by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) said that India emerged as the most sustainable nation in the category.</span></p> <p><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>The study noted that if other nations follow India&rsquo;s lead in its dietary habits, the environmental burden of food production could be reduced drastically, reported Moneycontrol. The findings revealed that India&rsquo;s food consumption would need less than one Earth (0.84) to sustain food production demands by 2050.
