Sri Lankan Pilot Locks Woman Colleague Out Of Cockpit Over Toilet Break

A pilot locked a woman co-pilot out of the cockpit of a Sydney-Colombo SriLankan Airlines flight when she took a mid-air toilet break. The incident was reported aboard a 10-hour-long flight, when the pilot took a break without arranging for her substitute in the cockpit, as per standard operating procedures. This led to a a stand-off between the two pilots. The male pilot locked the woman pilot out when she went to use the restroom. To remedy the situation, a cabin crew member used a communication link to the cockpit to urge the captain to let the co-pilot back in. Lufthansa Fined ‘Record’ $4 Million For Barring Jewish Passengers

US authorities have hit Lufthansa with a record $4 million penalty after finding the airline discriminated against over 100 Jewish travelers by blocking them from boarding a flight in 2022, officials said Tuesday. The 128 passengers were denied boarding to a connecting flight after a few did not follow instructions, including anti-Covid mask requirements, on a flight from the United States to Germany, US transport authorities said. The airline did not immediately reply to an AFP request for comment.
