Water Crisis Threatening Half Of Global Food Production: Report

Inaction on the water crisis could put more than half of the world’s food production at risk by 2050, experts warned in a major report published Thursday. “Nearly 3 billion people and more than half of the world’s food production are now in areas where total water storage is projected to decline,” said the report by the Global Commission on the Economics of Water (GCEW). The report also warned the water crisis could lead to an eight percent drop in GDP on average for high-income countries by 2050 and as much as 15 percent for lower-income countries. Liam Payne, Former One Director Member, Dies At 31

Liam Payne, former member of the renowned boy band One Direction, has tragically died at the age of 31. According to AP, the musician died after falling three floors from a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, said that he fell into a courtyard at Casa Sur Hotel, as per the report. Human induced climate change behind flooding disasters in Nepal

<p> Kathmandu, Oct 17 (PTI): World Weather Attribution, an international collaboration, has underscored the urgent need for Nepal to limit development in low-lying, riverside areas of the cities and scale up early warning and prompt action to avoid repeat of flooding disasters.</p><p> “Climate change was responsible for the extreme three day downpours in Nepal about 10 percent more intense,” concluded the organization in its recently published report.
