A furniture seller asked to buy back a mid-century dresser after a vintage furniture restorer and TikTok influencer began refurbishing it. Kandra Sobel, known for restoring vintage pieces, shared the experience in a now-viral post on TikTok. She explained that when she picked up the dresser – a Kipp Stewart Drexel piece – the sellers already knew she intended to refurbish it. “When I picked it up I told the seller like, ‘I’m going to refinish this,’ and he said ‘yep. An Indian man died on Sunday after a migrant boat sank during an attempt to cross the Channel to Britain, French officials said.  The Indian was in a group that had set off from the beach of Tardinghen in northern France but died when the boat, which was in “very poor condition”, deflated “immediately” after leaving the beach, officials said. Not all the passengers had life jackets, but most on board were able to swim back to shore. The man, around 40 years old, was in “cardio-respiratory arrest” and could not be revived by emergency services, officials said. Pakistan cricket team has announced the appointment of Test team coach Jason Gillespie as the new white-ball coach for the upcoming series against Australia and Zimbabwe. Jane Lu, the founder of online fashion retailer Showpo, has shared the “worst job application ever” she received. The application, to assist her, appears to have been written with artificial intelligence (AI), the Australian businesswoman said. She discovered blatant errors and likened it to “ChatGPT copy and paste. The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) Bihar has updated its official website domain ahead of the release of the Bihar Police Constable Result 2024. Candidates can now access and download the results from the new site, csbc.bih.gov.in. The previous domain, csbc.bih.nic.in, will no longer host the latest result updates. CSBC is expected to release the results on the official website soon. The examination was held on August 7, 11, 18, 21, 25, 28, and 31 this year across 38 districts in Bihar.
