<p>Hoping that the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir would soon be a state again, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday asserted he will fight for the restoration of its dignity.</p> <p>During an interaction with the members of civil society at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) here, Abdullah said he was hopeful that the system of a UT will not remain for long, “and we will get our statehood back”.</p> <p>”It is after a long time that the people’s government has returned. Tension In Bengal Over Housing Scheme, State Orders List Verification

Tension erupted in a part of West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district over lists of beneficiaries in the state’s housing scheme. The Trinamool Congress government has announced that it would build new homes after a tussle with the Union government over the funding of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.  Alapan Banerjee, the Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister addressed the media on this issue at the state secretariat, Nabanna, this evening. Zelensky Hints At Ukraine’s Request For US Long-Range Tomahawk Missiles

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky strongly suggested in a video released on Wednesday that Kyiv has requested supplies of long-range US Tomahawk missiles, as he made critical remarks about “confidential” information he said had been leaked. Tomahawk missiles have a range of 2,500 km (1,550 miles), far greater than any missile Ukraine currently has in its arsenal. Such a weapons delivery would almost certainly be seen by Russia as an escalation in its war in Ukraine.
