Delhi and neighbouring areas woke up to a thick layer of smog this morning, and the air quality index (AQI) remained in the “very poor” category despite various anti-pollution measures. According to the real-time data provided by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the AQI on the morning of Diwali was recorded at 328, which falls under the “very poor” category. An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, 401 and 450 severe, and above 450 severe-plus. Woman, 50, Goes Missing For 2 Days, Body Found Chopped Into 6 Pieces

The body of a 50-year-old woman, chopped into several pieces, was found in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur on Wednesday, two days after she was reported missing. According to the police, Anita Chaudhary was killed by an old family friend. On October 27, Ms Chaudhary, who used to run a beauty parlour in Jodhpur, closed the salon in the afternoon around 2:30 pm. However, she did not return home that night. A day later, her husband, Manmohan Chaudhary (56), filed a missing complaint with the police. French Ambassador Uses UPI To Buy Diwali Sweets In Delhi — WATCH

<p>The French ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou in a Diwali post shared on X, was seen rushing to the famous sweet shop of Delhi to purchase some sweets. In the video Mathou was seen using UPI to make the payment for the sweets.&nbsp;</p> <p>UPI was launched in 2016 by the National Payments Corporation of India, and it is regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). US Blames Onions For McDonald’s e.Coli Outbreak

US health authorities said Wednesday that slivered onions used by McDonald’s triggered an e.Coli outbreak that sickened 90 people. “Fresh, slivered onions served on Quarter Pounders and other menu items from McDonald’s are the likely source of this outbreak,” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. These particular onions were supplied by Taylor Farms, which issued a voluntary recall. McDonald’s also pulled the onions. Restaurants in a dozen US states temporarily pulled the burgers from their menus this month amid the outbreak linked to them. The number of people sickened now stands at 90, including 27 who had to be hospitalized, and an elderly man in Colorado died.
