The Maharashtra assembly polls scheduled for November 20 are “ajab (strange)” and clarity on which group is supporting whom will be clear after results are declared on November 23, Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said on Thursday. India is ready to launch from the US’ Cape Canaveral its most sophisticated communications satellite named GSAT-N2, also called GSAT-20, using SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. Made by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), this 4,700 kg satellite was too heavy for Indian rockets to carry, hence the foreign commercial launch. The satellite when operational will provide data or Internet services to remote areas and provide in-flight Internet in passenger aircraft. Two teenage boys died and as many were injured when their car rammed into a stationary truck before hitting a road divider, sparking calls from various quarters, including political parties, for strict action on underage driving in Kashmir. Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake‘s leftist coalition, the National People’s Power (NPP), secured a decisive victory in snap legislative elections, with voters rejecting establishment parties widely criticised for sparking an economic crisis.
