Indian Astronaut Will Pilot Mission To International Space Station: Axiom Space

The ISRO-NASA joint astronaut mission, which will see an Indian travelling to the International Space Station for the first time, is expected to launch between April and June next year and the US-based company facilitating this, Axiom Space, hopes to see Indian rockets used in such missions in the future, a senior official from the company has said.  Speaking exclusively to NDTV, Pearly Pandya, Director, International Government Business at Axiom Space, who is an Indian-American and was born in Ahmedabad, said the Chandrayaan-3 mission showed that India is emerging as a space superpower. The attacks on Israeli football supporters in Amsterdam this week followed tensions that began brewing days before between the fans and pro-Palestinian activists and other people in the city, a chronology of events showed. Supporters of Israeli soccer team Maccabi Tel Aviv were targeted for beatings by groups of thugs in the early hours of Friday following a match with Amsterdam’s Ajax, the city’s mayor Femke Halsema has said. Giant Rats To Be Used To Sniff Out Illegal Wildlife Trade? Study Claims

Giant African rats that weigh 1.5-2 kg and are 3-4 times the size of brown rats can be used to fight illegal wildlife trafficking, according to a study published last month by nonprofit APOPO. Natives to the savannahs of southern Africa, these giant rats, also known as ‘hero rats’ by people who train them, have been used to detect deadly land mines and tuberculosis pathogens in samples. The scientists now believe they can be trained to identify illegally trafficked wildlife through scent detection.
