Chiefs Of Armed Forces To Celebrate Diwali With Troops In Forward Areas

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gesture of celebrating Diwali with troops in forward areas, the top defence brass of the country is also celebrating the festival with troops in different locations across the country. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan is celebrating Diwali with troops deployed in the Andaman and Nicobar Command in Port Blair and took part in festivities there. Tension In Bengal Over Housing Scheme, State Orders List Verification

Tension erupted in a part of West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district over lists of beneficiaries in the state’s housing scheme. The Trinamool Congress government has announced that it would build new homes after a tussle with the Union government over the funding of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.  Alapan Banerjee, the Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister addressed the media on this issue at the state secretariat, Nabanna, this evening. Chinese Firm To Print Nepal Notes With Map Featuring Indian Regions

The Nepal Rastra Bank, the central bank of Nepal, has awarded to a Chinese company the contract to print new 100-rupee notes featuring the revised political map of the country. Nepal’s Council of Ministers approved the design change for the 100-rupee note, which incorporates the three strategically important areas of Limpiyadhura, Lipulek, and Kalapani as part of Nepal. The new political map was updated through a process on June 18, 2020, by incorporating Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura by amending its constitution, something that India already termed as “untenable” and the “artificial enlargement” of the territorial claims by Nepal.
