In June, after taking charge as Prime Minister of the country for a third time, Narendra Modi had instructed central ministries to go for a massive cleanliness campaign to reduce waste and also address grievances as effective “nagrik ke sevak.” According to latest government data, at least 11.5 lakh sites with government office spaces have been cleaned and 643 sqft land has been freed, which means the exercise has led to not just freeing up of a huge amount of office space but also doing away with a lot of scrap that was lying around for years in office spaces. Pakistan Scraps Plan To Name Shadman Chowk After Bhagat Singh

<p>A proposal to rename Shadman Chowk in Lahore after Bhagat Singh and install his statue has been dropped based on the opinion of a retired military official, according to the district government of Lahore in the Punjab province of Pakistan.</p> <p>In a written response submitted to the Lahore High Court (LHC) by Assistant Advocate General Asghar Leghari on Friday, serious accusations were made against the freedom fighter.</p> <p>”A proposed plan of the city district government Lahore to name Shadman Chowk after Bhagat Singh and place his statue there has been scrapped in light of an observation submitted by Commodore (retd.)
