Video: Hainan Airlines Flight Catches Fire Mid-Air, Turns Back To Rome

A Hainan Airlines flight that departed from Fiumicino Airport in Rome, Italy, was forced to turn back shortly after takeoff due to a fire on board. The flight headed to Shenzhen, China, encountered trouble when a bird strike caused an engine failure. Italian Coast Guard officials reported that the bird strike posed a threat to the aircraft’s 249 passengers and 16 crew members. While bird strikes are relatively common, they can be dangerous, especially if they impact an engine. The BJP has written to the Election Commission, seeking a First Information Report against Congress’s Rahul Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, over what they have called ‘lies” against the BJP and its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevk Sangh. A party delegation, led by Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, has submitted a 10-page memorandum to the Commission, mentioning Mr Gandhi’s speeches and remarks and sought that he be “censured” and “restrained”.
