Jailed Gangster’s Wife Tries To Extort Rs 2 Crore From Hotel Owner, Arrested

Police on Monday arrested Manisha, wife of jailed gangster Kaushal Chaudhary, for allegedly trying to extort Rs 2 crores from a hotel owner, officials said. Acting allegedly on behalf of the Kaushal Chaudhary and Amit Dagar gang, Manisha demanded the hotel owner over the phone to pay up the amount or they would open fire at the hotel. Death threats were also issued, they said. Two mobile phones were recovered from her possession and Gurugram Police have taken Manisha on six days of police remand after being produced in a city court on Monday, they added. Man Forges Son’s Document To Shied Him In Rape-Murder Case, Arrested

A man was arrested in Noida on Monday for allegedly fabricating a Transfer Certificate (TC) for his son to show that he was a juvenile when he was arrested in a rape and murder case in 2016, police said. The accused, Mohanlal, colluded with a school principal, Nathuram, to obtain the TC. Nathuram is on the run, they said. Anti-Terror Agency Conducts Searches To Probe Al-Qaida’s Terror Activities

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted extensive searches at multiple locations across the country in connection with the activities promoted by some Bangladeshi nationals as part of terror group Al-Qaida’s conspiracy to destabilise India, according to an official statement. The crackdown at nine locations, linked with individuals suspected of supporting and funding the activities of the proscribed terrorist organisation Al-Qaida, started early in the morning in Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, West Bengal, Bihar, Tripura and Assam, it said. The searches led to the recovery of incriminating documents showing detailed banking transactions, digital devices including mobile phones, and other evidence related to terror funding activities, the statement issued by the NIA said. Malayalam actor Siddique, whose interim anticipatory bail granted by the Supreme Court on alleged charges of raping a young actress is ending soon, has accused the Kerala Police of “cooking up baseless stories” about him in the case.
