World Govts Vowed To Triple Renewables Capacity At COP28. Year Later, Most Yet To Update Targets, Says Think Tank

A new report by UK-based energy think tank Ember, released to coincide with the ongoing COP29 conference in Baku, suggests they aren&rsquo;t, at least as far as boosting the capacity of renewable energy is concerned.</span></p> <p><span style=”font-weight: 400;”>A year after the global goal to triple renewables by 2030 was agreed at COP28, national targets by governments are almost unchanged, the report notes. Supreme Court Orders AIIMS Check-Up Of Ex-PFI Chief E Abubacker For Bail On Medical Grounds

<p>The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) medically examine E Abubacker, the former Chairman of the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI), to determine if he should be granted bail on medical grounds.</p> <p>A bench comprising Justices MM Sundresh and Aravind Kumar directed AIIMS to constitute a medical team for the purpose of medical examination. The Supreme Court has dismissed a man’s petition in which he claimed his brain was controlled through a machine. Describing the petition as “bizarre,” a bench of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah said they could not find any grounds to interfere. The petitioner, a teacher, approached the court with allegations that certain individuals used a “human brain reading machinery” obtained from the Central Forensic Scientific Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad to manipulate his brain. He sought a court order for the deactivation of this alleged device.
