Allegedly charging patients Rs 2 instead of the stipulated fee of Re 1 at a Community Health Centre (CHC) has cost a contractual employee his job here in eastern Uttar Pradesh, officials said. The pharmacist was dismissed following an unannounced inspection by local BJP MLA Prem Sagar Patel at the Jagdaur CHC on Monday. The Siswa legislator said he had received complaints from the public regarding irregularities at the state-run health facility. During his inspection, Mr Patel discovered that patients were allegedly being charged Rs 2 instead of the official Re 1 for prescriptions by the pharmacist. A centuries-old mystery surrounding a poet buried in Notre Dame in Paris could be close to being solved thanks to archeological digs at the world-famous cathedral, researchers said on Tuesday. JPMorgan Chase is in talks with Apple about replacing Goldman Sachs as the tech giant’s credit-card partner, a source familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. The discussions started earlier this year and have advanced in recent weeks, but any potential deal could still be months away, said the source, who asked not to be named because the discussions are private. The Wall Street Journal reported the news earlier.
