Salary Of Prisoners In UK More Than Jail Guards And Teachers: Report

Prisoners in British jails are earning more than the officers that guard them as well as secondary teachers, biochemists, psychotherapists and midwives, according to a report in The Telegraph. Inmates in some of the low-security, open prisons are allowed to venture outside for work, as long as they return to the jail confines by the end of the day. Behind BJP’s Winning Game In Maharashtra After Big Slide In Lok Sabha Polls

The assembly elections in Maharashtra have shed light yet again on the BJP’s resilience and successful strategising after a setback. The party has managed a successful course correction in the state where just a few months ago, it has slid massively in the Lok Sabha polls. Yakub Mansuri was sleeping on the pavement outside the children’s ward of the medical college in Jhansi Friday night when a fire broke out in the neonatal intensive care unit. He broke through a window and managed to rescue some newborns but not his two daughters. Charred bodies of some babies were shown to him by the authorities for identification but in vain. “I couldn’t recognise them,” said the grief-stricken father, still desperate to find his daughters.
