Building Collapses After Explosion In Madhya Pradesh, Many Feared Trapped: Cops

At least half a dozen people are feared to be trapped under the debris after an explosion in a building in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district on Saturday. The impact of the explosion was such that the building collapsed completely within a few seconds, turning into debris. Eyewitnesses told the press that at least four residential buildings located adjacent to the blast site were also damaged badly. Local area police and district administration were alerted and the rescue operation was underway. According to information, two women were rescued alive and they have been rushed to a nearby hospital. JCB machines and the SDRF team reached the spot. <p><strong>New Delhi:</strong> Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar has been appointed the ninth chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW) succeeding Rekha Sharma, according to an official order.</p> <p>The appointment made under Section 3 of the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, will be for a period of three years or until she reaches the age of 65, whichever comes first, a government notification issued on Saturday said.</p> <p>Rahatkar’s tenure will begin with immediate effect.
