Delhi Court Grants Bail To AAP Leader Satyendar Jain In Money Laundering Case

<p>Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court on Friday granted bail to AAP leader Satyendar Jain in a money laundering case. Former Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain Gets Bail After 2 Years

Former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain has been granted bail by a local court in a money laundering case. Mr Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over two years ago. The Supreme Court had granted him interim bail in May 2023 on medical grounds. He returned to Delhi’s Tihar jail after the Supreme Court denied his request for regular bail in March this year.

Top Court Upholds Anticipatory Bail To Prajwal Revanna’s Mother In Kidnapping Case

The Supreme Court on Friday refused to set aside the anticipatory bail given to Bhavani Revanna, the mother of suspended JD(S) leader and rape accused Prajwal Revanna, in a kidnapping case while dismissing the Karnataka government’s plea. In a setback to the Karnataka government, a bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan took into account that the chargesheet had been filed in the case and refused to interfere with the Karnataka High Court order. During the hearing, the state government counsel claimed the mother was directly involved in allegedly procuring women for her son. Personal Laws Can’t Hinder Legislation Prohibiting Child Marriage, Says Supreme Court

<p>New Delhi, Oct 18 (PTI) The Supreme Court on Friday said the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act cannot be stunted by traditions under any personal law and observed marriages involving children violate the free will to choose a life partner.</p> <p>A bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra further issued a slew of guidelines for the effective implementation of the law on prevention of child marriages in the country.</p> <p>The bench, however, noted the issue whether the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act (PCMA) would prevail over personal laws was pending with the Parliament for consideration.
