The Jharkhand BJP has been asked to take down a social media post the Election Commission says violates the Model Code of Conduct. The party has also been asked to explain “the alleged violation of provisions of MCC (Model Code of Conduct) on account of their referred social media posts”.  The poll panel’s decision came following a complaint by the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and ally Congress. With Delhi’s air quality plummeting to “severe+” for the first time this season, the Centre’s air quality panel on Sunday announced stricter pollution control measures for the Delhi-NCR under Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which will come into effect from 8 am on Monday. Top Senate Democrats – Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed and New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen are calling for an investigation into Elon Musk’s alleged ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his top officials.  They sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Defence Department Inspector General Robert Storch raising “serious questions regarding Mr Musk’s reliability as a government contractor and a [security] clearance holder”. The lawmakers want the Pentagon and Justice Department to probe whether Musk’s relationships with a US adversary compromise national security, especially given his major government contracts.
