Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that Moscow has the right to strike military targets of countries whose weapons are used by Ukraine to hit Russian territory. “We consider ourselves entitled to use our weapons against the military facilities of those countries that allow their weapons to be used against our facilities,” Putin said. “In the event of an escalation of aggressive actions, we will respond just as decisively,” he added.

47 Survivors Of 1984 Anti Sikh Riots Handed Out Job Letters By Delhi Lt Governor

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 47 survivors of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. According to a statement, six additional appointment letters will be issued to successors of beneficiaries who have exceeded the age of service. Speaking at an event to distribute the letters at the Tilak Vihar area of west Delhi, Mr Saxena announced that 437 pending applications for appointments are under verification. In a setback for the Left government in Kerala, the High Court here has said that waving of black flags at the Chief Minister’s convoy was not an illegal act and does not amount to defamation. The ruling by Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas assumes significance as many Youth Congress activists faced police action for waving black flags at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during the Nava Kerala Sadas, the state government’s outreach programme, last year. “Though signs and visible representations can be a mode of defaming a person, still, showing or waving a black flag to a person cannot amount to defamation nor is it an illegal act,” Justice Thomas said. Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), said that Gaza has become a ‘graveyard’ for children. “They are being killed, injured, forced to flee, and deprived of safety, education, and play,” Lazzarini said in a statement marking World Children’s Day, observed annually on November 20, Xinhua news agency reported. “Their childhood has been stolen, and they are on the verge of becoming a lost generation, having lost another school year,” Lazzarini said.
