Listeria Outbreak Claims 9 Lives In US, Health Authorities Advise Checking Refrigerated Food

Deadly listeria outbreak in deli meats, which was first reported in July and, as of Tuesday, has been linked to several hospitalisations across many US states, could bring more illness, according to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. The outbreak has led to at least 57 hospitalisations and nine deaths in 18 states since the CDC initially reported it on July 19. Those cases now include nine deaths across South Carolina, Illinois, New Jersey, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, New Mexico, and New York. Thief Spends Night At Bhopal Museum, Gets Caught Next Morning

A man concealed himself at a government museum in Bhopal at night to commit a theft, but was caught on Tuesday morning while trying to flee with ancient coins, police said. The incident took place at the State Museum, said police commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra. The man — whose name was not disclosed — entered the museum before the closing time on Monday evening, and managed to stay inside. But the security personnel spotted him, and alerted police in the morning. Police arrived promptly and surrounded the building, Mishra said. He jumped from a wall in a bid to escape but was arrested. It was a scam akin to Russian Matryoshka dolls, where one lie hid another.  The con began with fake investors, then expanded to fake apps where people were urged to invest in fake stocks for high returns, only to find that they had been stripped of their life savings.
