JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Sunday hit out at Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for accusing the opposition of dragging his wife in the MUDA case and blamed the latter’s ‘wrongs’ for the situation. Three persons who went to watch the air show at Chennai’s Marina Beach have died. Doctors said at least one of them had heat stroke. Enthusiastic families had gathered at the Marina beach before 11 am to witness the air show on the occasion of the 92nd IAF Day celebration. Many were seen shading themselves from the blinding sun with umbrellas.  The air show had included a show by the Special Garud Force commandos in a simulated rescue operation and in freeing the hostage. Doctors in Bareilly have extracted 2 kg of human hair from inside a 21-year-old woman, who had been eating it for the last 16 years, plucking it on the sly whenever she would get a chance. Clinically diagnosed as trichophagia, or Rapunzel Syndrome, the psychological condition involves the victims picking their own hair for ingestion. The hair had completely “captured the cavity” of her stomach and even some part of her intestine, doctors said. Ten doctors considered close to Sandip Ghosh, arrested former Principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar hospital, have been expelled by the hospital authorities for multiple irregularities, including issuing threats, coercion and sexual harassment. The expulsion comes amid an unprecedented “fast unto death” being held by a group of protesting junior doctors.  The list of those expelled includes interns, house staff and senior residents from the hospital. All of them have been asked to vacate the college hostel within 72 hours. Their registration papers will be sent to the West Bengal Medical Council for action.
