SpiceJet Settles $132 Million Dispute With Aircraft Leasing Firm BBAM

Budget carrier SpiceJet on Wednesday said it has amicably settled a USD 132-million dispute with aircraft leasing firm Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management (BBAM). The dispute, valued at USD 131.85 million (Rs 1,107 crore) with the lessors — Horizon Aviation 1 Ltd, Horizon II Aviation 3 Ltd, and Horizon III Aviation 2 Ltd — has been resolved for USD 22.5 million, SpiceJet said in a statement. All these lessors are under the management of BBAM. The settlement, which comes after the company raised Rs 3,000 crore through a QIP last month, will help SpiceJet strengthen its balance sheet and reduce overall liabilities, it said. Hyundai’s $3 Billion IPO, India’s Largest Ever, To Open Next Week

Hyundai Motor India has set a price range of Rs 1,865 to Rs 1,960 for its initial public offering (IPO) that opens next week for subscriptions, an advertisement in the Financial Express newspaper showed on Wednesday. The Indian unit of the Korean carmaker is offering a discount of Rs 186 per share to eligible employees in the IPO, the advertisement showed. The $3 billion IPO, India’s largest ever, will open for subscriptions for big institutional investors on Oct. 14, and invite bids from retail and other categories during October 15-17. Garuda Construction IPO Subscribed 1.9 Times On Day 1

The initial public offer of Garuda Construction and Engineering got fully subscribed with 1.91 times subscriptions on the first day on Tuesday. The initial share sale received bids for 3,80,15,666 shares against 1,99,04,862 shares on offer, according to data available with the NSE. The portion meant for Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) got subscribed 3.43 times while the quota for non-institutional investors received 1.10 times subscription. The category for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) attracted a mere 2 per cent subscription. Garuda Construction and Engineering Ltd on Monday said it has raised Rs 75 crore from anchor investors. Three Independent Haryana MLAs, including India’s richest woman Savitri Jindal, are likely to extend support to the BJP government in the state. Ms Jindal, Devender Kadyan and Rajesh Joon will meet the BJP high command and the state election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan today.
