Malayam Actor Sreenath Bhasi Arrested, Later Released In Hit-And-Run Case

Malayam actor Sreenath Bhasi was arrested and later released on station bail in connection with a road accident in which a car he was allegedly traveling in collided with a bike and failed to stop, police said on Tuesday. The Ernakulam Central Police said it had registered a case against the actor following the incident, which occurred last month. The victim had sustained injuries after his bike was struck by the car. While Bhasi appeared before the police on Monday, his arrest was recorded, and he was released on bail, a police officer said, without elaborating.

Pilgrims Without Online Registration Will Also Get ‘Darshan’ At Sabarimala: Kerala Chief Minister

The Kerala government on Tuesday made it clear that the pilgrims who visit Sabarimala without virtual queue booking will also be provided smooth darshan at the Lord Ayyappa temple. The Pinarayi Vijayan government backtracked from its earlier decision to provide darshan only through online registration during the upcoming pilgrimage season amidst widespread protest. India Signs Deal For 31 Predator Drones From US

In a big boost to the armed forces, India has signed a deal with the United States to acquire 31 MQ-9B Predator drones.  The Indian Navy is likely to get 15 of the drones, which will be the ‘SeaGuardian’ variant while the Army and the Air Force will be allotted eight ‘SkyGuardian’ Predator drones each. Sources told NDTV that the total cost of the deal is likely to be under $3.5 billion.  The deal for acquiring the drones from American manufacturer General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) under a Foreign Military Sales contract between the two governments was cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security earlier this month.
