<p>The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has greenlit 10 capital acquisition proposals worth Rs 1.45 lakh crore, aiming to significantly enhance India’s defence capabilities. Bengal Must Support CISF For Kolkata Hospital: Centre Approaches Top Court

The housing of Central Industrial Security Forces, deployed at the hospital where the shocking rape-murder of a doctor took place last month, appears set to be the next flashpoint between Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP. The Centre has now gone to the Supreme Court, contending that the Bengal government must house the CISF personnel who have been delegated to ensure security at the hospital. Anything less, it said, would amount to contempt of court.

UK Woman And Partner Jailed After Planning To Drug, Rape Her Six-Year-Old Daughter

A woman and her partner from Cornwall have been sentenced to prison for plotting to drug and rape her six-year-old daughter. The couple, whose identities are being withheld to protect the victim, were sentenced at Plymouth Crown Court on Friday, August 30. The woman, from East Cornwall, received a 17-year prison sentence, while the man, from North Cornwall, was sentenced to 13 years.
