Train Accident Averted In Madhya Pradesh After Tractor Found On Track

A rail mishap was averted on Monday in Madhya Pradesh after a tractor stalled on the tracks and a train driver stopped in time by applying brakes, a police official said. The incident took place at Guramkhedi on Jabalpur-Itarsi rail route at 10am, Pipariya RPF police station in-charge Gopal Meena said. “The driver of Somnath Express applied brakes after seeing a tractor on the track. His alertness averted a mishap. An RPF team removed the tractor. Efforts are on to nab the tractor driver,” Mr Meena said.

40 Killed, 60 Injured In Humanitarian Zone Attack: Gaza Civil Defence

A Gaza civil defence official told AFP early Tuesday that “40 martyrs and 60 injured were recovered and transferred” to nearby hospitals following an attack inside the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone in Khan Yunis, the Palestinian territory’s main southern city. Two unidentified individuals posing as crime branch officers have absconded with Rs 5 lakh from a lawyer in Mumbai, said police. The Khar police have registered a case against the perpetrators, who claimed themselves as crime branch officials and robbed the lawyer under the pretence of conducting an investigation. According to the Khar police, the victim, 37-year-old Tausif Sheikh, is a lawyer residing in Bandra. Sheikh lodged a complaint stating that his relatives are involved in a tourism business, handling tasks such as booking air and railway tickets and money transfers. Kim Jong Un Says North Korea To Increase Number Of Nuclear Weapons

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the country is now implementing a nuclear force construction policy to increase the number of nuclear weapons “exponentially,” state media KCNA said on Tuesday. Kim gave a speech on North Korea’s founding anniversary on Monday, KCNA said. North Korea must more thoroughly prepare its “nuclear capability and its readiness to use it properly at any given time in ensuring the security rights of the state,” Kim said, according to KCNA. A strong military presence is needed to face “the various threats posed by the United States and its followers,” Kim added.
