Scientific Miracles of the Quran
The Quran, revealed over 1400 years ago, contains scientific facts that modern science has only recently discovered.
1. Embryology – The Development of a Human
The Quran accurately describes the stages of fetal development:
“We created man from an extract of clay. Then We made him a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. Then We made the sperm-drop into a clot, and We made the clot into a lump, and We made the lump bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.” (Surah Al-Mu’minun 23:12-14)
Modern science confirms that human development follows this exact sequence.
2. Expansion of the Universe
The Quran describes the universe expanding:
“And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.” (Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:47)
This aligns with the discovery of the expanding universe by Edwin Hubble in 1929.
3. The Barrier Between Salt and Fresh Water
The Quran describes a barrier between two bodies of water:
“He has set the two seas in motion, converging together. Between them is a barrier so neither of them transgresses.” (Surah Ar-Rahman 55:19-20)
Oceanography confirms that where salt and fresh water meet, a barrier exists due to differences in salinity and density.
4. Mountains as Pegs
The Quran describes mountains as stabilizers for the Earth:
“Have We not made the earth a resting place? And the mountains as stakes?” (Surah An-Naba 78:6-7)
Geology confirms that mountains have deep roots, acting as stabilizers for the Earth’s crust.
5. The Creation of Everything in Pairs
The Quran states that all living beings are created in pairs:
“And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember.” (Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:49)
Science has proven that plants, animals, and even subatomic particles have pairs.
