BJP Hits Back At Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Fighting Indian State’ Remark: ‘Congress’ Ugly Truth Exposed’

Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday sparked a massive controversy with his remarks as he claimed that the grand old party was not just fighting the BJP and its ideological mentor RSS, but the “Indian state” as well. This triggered a chain of sharp reactions from several BJP leaders including party president JP Nadda and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who slammed the Congress saying its “ugly truth now stands exposed” and that it “compromised nation’s integrity and betrayed people” in its “greed for power”. Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri even remarked that Gandhi should “get his mental stability checked”.

Rahul Gandhi, while addressing Congress party leaders at the inauguration of the new party headquarters in Delhi, said: “Do not think that we are fighting a fair fight. There is no fairness in this. If you believe that we are fighting a political organisation called the BJP or RSS, you have not understood what is going on. The BJP and the RSS have captured every single institution of our country. We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS and the Indian State itself.”

”Hidden no more, Congress’s ugly truth now stands exposed by their own leader. I ‘compliment’ Rahul Gandhi for saying clearly what the nation knows – that he is fighting the Indian state! It is not a secret that Mr. Gandhi and his ecosystem have close links with Urban Naxals and the Deep State who want to defame, demean and discredit India,” the Union Minister said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

”His repeated actions have also strengthened this belief. Everything he has done or said has been in the direction of breaking India and dividing our society,” Nadda added.

The BJP chief further lashed out at Congress saying that the party’s “greed for power” was about “compromising the nation’s integrity” and “betraying people’s trust”

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman questioned the Congress why it carried a copy of the Constitution in their hands if they were fighting the Indian state. “The LoP, who was sworn in by taking oath on the Constitution, is now saying, ‘We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS and the Indian State itself.’ So, @INCIndia and @RahulGandhi, what for are you carrying a copy of the constitution in your hand?” she questioned.
