Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025: Over 3,000 motivated youth from across India have gathered in Delhi for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025, an event organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the leadership of Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The three-day event which began on Friday, provides a platform for young leaders to present their ideas for the future of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) and engage directly with policymakers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the youth festival was to ascertain what kind of developed India the youth want, and how to provide them opportunities and guidance for the same. The youth-led approach to this event is central, with the theme “By the youth, for the youth” resonating throughout the activities.

The selection process for participants began with a nationwide quiz competition. Over 30 lakh students from colleges across India participated in the Viksit Bharat Quiz, conducted in 12 languages to ensure inclusivity. The top 2 lakh participants were then asked to write essays on various themes such as women empowerment, sustainability, and innovation in start-ups. A total of 60,000 essays were submitted, which were assessed, and the best 9,000 essays were shortlisted for a presentation phase.

Subsequently, these 9,000 participants presented their ideas in five-minute sessions, after which 3,000 youth were selected to participate in the final event. The participants, organised in groups of three, have been given a grand send-off by the Chief Ministers of 23 states, who have hosted them ahead of the event where they will share their vision with the Prime Minister of India.

The participants represent a diverse mix, with 1,500 from the Viksit Bharat Track, 1,000 from the Traditional Track, and 500 Pathbreakers, all of whom were chosen based on their contributions to various fields such as technology, social issues, and sustainability.

A notable aspect of this process was the desire of the youth to meet with all the governors of India. In response, a presentation was made to the secretaries of all governors, ensuring the involvement of state leadership. As part of the event, 30 ministers have also hosted these youth participants, providing them an opportunity to engage with national leaders and share their ideas.
