TTD Arranges Special Vaikuntha Ekadashi Darshan For Injured Victims In Tirupati Stampede

<p>The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) provided Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan to 52 devotees injured in a stampede near Tirupati&rsquo;s Vishnu Nivasam. The special darshan, arranged by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and TTD Chairman, took place as the victims continued to recover at SVIMS hospital.</p>
<p>On Wednesday, a stampede during the distribution of Vaikunta Dwara Sarva Darshan tokens for the 10-day Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations starting from January 10 (Friday), claimed the lives of six devotees. A massive crowd of devotees jostling for tokens led to a stampede also resulting injuries to several others.</p>
<p>After the darshan, the devotees thanked the CM, Deputy CM and TTD for providing darshan at Vaikuntha Dwara.</p>

<p>Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav and SVIMS Director RV Kumar, spent 90 minutes at the hospital on Thursday. He personally interacted with the injured devotees.</p>
<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, tweeting: &ldquo;Pained by the stampede in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. My thoughts are with those who have lost their near and dear ones. I pray that the injured recover soon. The AP Government is providing all possible assistance to those affected: PM@narendramodi.&rdquo;</p>
