Parliament LIVE Updates: On Last Day Of Winter Session, Congress MPs Stage March To Oppose ‘Ambedkar’s Insult’

Parliament Live Updates: Please follow this space for all the latest news and updates on the Parliament Winter Session. The last day of Parliament’s winter session is expected to witness uproar in both Houses of Parliament a day after protests and bruises inside the premises. 
On Thursday, Congress along with other opposition parties protested against Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding his resignation over his remarks for BR Ambedkar in Rajya Sabha. 
The Bharatiya Janata Party also staged a demonstration against Congress for insulting Bhimrao Ambedkar. 
The BJP-led NDA MPs were protesting at the Makardwar, the main entrance for the MPs, when a commotion broke out and BJP MPs alleged Rahul Gandhi of shoving and hitting two lawmakers. 
BJP MP Pratap Sarangi was injured in the scuffle and was rushed to hospital for treatment. Another BJP MP Mukesh Rajput was also taken to hospital. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was blamed by the ruling party MPs for injuring the two lawmakers. 
Meanwhile, BJP MP from Nagaland S Phangnon Konyak alleged that Gandhi came in her “close proximity” and shouted at her during the protest which made her “extremely uncomfortable”.
An FIR was registered against Gandhi under various sections after BJP leaders filed a police complaint. According to a police officer, all sections in the FIR are bailable except Section 117 (voluntary causing grievous hurt) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The Congress leader was booked under sections 115 (voluntary causing hurt), 117 (voluntary causing grievous hurt), 125 (the act of endangering life or personal safety of others), 131 (use of criminal force), 351 (criminal intimidation) and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS at the Parliament Street Police station.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla alleging that he was physically pushed by NDA MPs during the protest. 
Both factions also submitted a complaint to the respective Chairs in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha against each other.
The controversy stemmed from a statement by Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha earlier this week where he said Congress members would have earned a space in heaven if they had chanted the name of God as many times as they took Ambedkar’s name. “They have made it a fashion,” Shah said. 
Besides Congress, MPs from DMK, RJD, SP, the Left and NCP(SP), among others, participated in the protest against the Union Home Minister.
