<p>A Sealdah court on Friday granted bail to former officer-in-charge of Tala police station, Abhijit Mondal, and Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar hospital, in connection with the rape and murder of an on-duty doctor at the state-run medical facility.</p>
<p>The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) granted bail to Mondal and Ghosh after the chargesheet against them was not filed within the mandatory 90-day period. Ghosh’s lawyer confirmed that both were granted bail as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) failed to meet the deadline. “The chargesheet was not filed within 90 days, and hence they were granted bail,” the lawyer said, as per news agency PTI.</p>
