Gondia: Shivshahi Bus Overturns While Trying To Avoid A Collision With Bike, 9 Bodies Recovered

<p>A bus accident occurred on the Gondia-Kohmara State Highway near Khajri village on November 29, leaving at least 9 people dead and many others injured. The accident took place between 12:00 and 12:30 PM when a Shivshahi bus (MH 09/EM 1273), travelling from Bhandara to Gondia, overturned while trying to avoid a bike.</p>
<p>The bus was en route to Gondia via Sakoli and Lakhani when a bike appeared suddenly around a sharp turn. The driver swerved to avoid a collision, but the high-speed manoeuvre caused the bus to overturn. There were 35 passengers on board at the time of the accident, and emergency responders rushed to the scene.</p>
<p>The death toll is expected to rise as more details emerge from the ongoing rescue operations.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
<p>Eyewitnesses reported that the driver fled the scene shortly after the crash. The injured passengers were swiftly transported to KTS District Hospital in Gondia with the help of ambulances and police personnel. Rescue teams are using a crane to lift the overturned bus. &nbsp;</p>
<p>The state government has expressed condolences to the victims’ families and promised further support as the investigation progresses. Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister has directed the Transport Administration to provide Rs 10 lakh in immediate assistance to the families of the victims. The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident and the whereabouts of the driver.</p>
