<p>Bengaluru is set to play a crucial role in revitalising relations between India and the Maldives as Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu who has embarked on a five-day bilateral trip to India is expected to visit Bengaluru.</p>
<p>The Karnataka Chief Minister’s Office issued a statement expressing pleasure over the visit of President Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed. Karnataka CMO issues statement – “I am extremely pleased to host the visit of the delegation from Maldives led by the President and the First Lady at Bengaluru. I am pleased to note that the First Lady was a student in Bengaluru.”<br /><br />”I am given to understand that the government of Maldives is interested in having partnerships with the leading IT industry of Bengaluru…Our Tourism tagline is – “One State, Many Worlds”. Apart from almost 300km of coastline, we have world’s second largest Shola Forest hosting Tiger and Bird Sanctuaries. We look forward to a partnership with Maldives to promote educational and cultural exchange,” it said.</p>

<p>Before arriving in Bengaluru, President Muizzu and the First Lady visited the iconic Taj Mahal on Tuesday. The couple was welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Minister Yogendra Upadhyay on behalf of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. They were presented with a replica of the Taj Mahal and posed for photos with the monument, which left them in awe of its architectural splendor.</p>
<p>”It is tough to describe this mausoleum’s beauty as words simply cannot do it justice. This mesmerising intricacy and attention to detail is a testament to love and architectural excellence,” Muizzu wrote in the visitors’ book.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Maldives President’s visit comes after a year of strained ties.</p>
