<p>Two Chinese nationals were killed in a massive explosion near Pakistan’s international airport in Karachi on Sunday night, Reuters reported quoting the Chinese Embassy. At least 10 other people were injured in the blast, local media reports said.</p>
<p>The Chinese embassy said a convoy from the Port Qasim Electric Power Company was attacked near the airport.</p>
<p>”The Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Pakistan strongly condemn this terrorist attack, express deep condolences to the innocent victims of both countries and sincere sympathies to the injured and (their) families,” it said in a statement.</p>
<p>Separatist militant group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which were carried out by using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.</p>
<p>The banned group seeks independence for the province of Balochistan, located in Pakistan’s southwest and bordering on Afghanistan and Iran. In August, it launched coordinated attacks in the province, in which more than 70 people were killed.</p>
<p>Home Minister for southern Sindh province Zia Lanjar told Geo News that the explosion was triggered by an IED device targeting Chinese nationals outside the airport.</p>
<p>Visuals showed smoke rising from the area, with a large fire visible on a road near the blast site.</p>
