<p>In response to wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joining the Congress party, BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh called Phogat a “face of Congress’s conspiracy.” Singh claimed he would clear his name in court, labeling the allegations against him as part of a baseless, two-year conspiracy. He alleged that the protests against him were staged and funded to entrap him and that Congress rewarded Phogat and Punia for their involvement. Singh also criticized Phogat for not confronting him if she had been harassed, accusing her of being part of the conspiracy. He mentioned that Phogat’s weight was reportedly four kilograms over the limit during trials, though no officials challenged her due to her “outrage.” Singh stated he has no intention of using the situation for political gain in Haryana.</p>
