<p>An earthquake of 7.1 magnitude hit Nepal on Tuesday morning and its tremors were felt in neighbouring Bihar, West Bengal and Delhi-NCR. The earthquake occurred at 6:35 am, 93 km northeast of Lobuche, near the Nepal-Tibet border, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).</p>
<p>There were no immediate reports of any damage.</p>

<p>Nepal is situated in a seismically active zone and has experienced significant earthquakes in the past. In 2015, Nepal experienced two devastating earthquakes that claimed the lives of 9,000 people and left 22,309 others injured. </p>
