<p>As the auspicious festival of Diwali is being celebrated, streets across India transform into a kaleidoscope of vibrant lights, sparkling diyas, and intricate rangolis. However, the customs and traditions associated with Diwali vary significantly across different regions of the country.</p>
<p>According to the Hindu lunar calendar, the festival of Diwali is celebrated on the new moon night of Kartik. In India, especially in Northern India, Diwali is a five-day festival. This celebration begins on the 13th lunar day of the dark fortnight of Kartik, known as Dhanteras, and concludes on Bhai Dooj. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on the same day in both Northern and Southern India. Diwali will be celebrated on October 31 and November 1, 2024.</p>

<h3>Pardosh Puja Timing</h3>
<p>The timing for Pradosh Puja is from November 1, starting at 5:44 PM and continuing until 8:19 PM. Diwali 2024 will begin on Tuesday, October 29, with Dhanteras and conclude on Sunday, November 3, with Bhai Dooj. On Diwali, the worship and reverence of Goddess Lakshmi take place, as she is regarded as the goddess of wealth and prosperity.</p>

<h3>Diwali 2024 Pujan Samagri</h3>
<p>For the Diwali puja, the worship materials include the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh, along with roli, kumkum, akshat, betel leaves, areca nut, coconut, cloves, cardamom, incense, camphor, incense sticks, clay lamps, cotton, kalawa, honey, yogurt, Ganga water, jaggery, coriander, fruits, flowers, barley, wheat, durva grass, sandalwood, vermilion, Panchamrit, milk, nuts, batasha, janeu, white cloth, perfume, a pedestal, a kalash, a garland of lotus seeds, conch shell, seating mat, plate, silver coin, seating arrangement, havan kund, havan materials, mango leaves, and prasad.</p>
<h3>Diwali 2024 Puja Vidhi</h3>
<p>First, clean the Ishaana corner or the northern direction and draw a swastika symbol. Sprinkle akshat on top of it. Then, lay a wooden seat covered with a red cloth. Place the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on the seat.<br />Before starting the puja, establish the idols of the Panchadev: Surya Dev, Shri Ganesh, Durga, Shiva, and Vishnu. Along with this, sanctify the setup with a sprinkle of Ganga water.</p>
<p>First, begin the puja with the mantras dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Perform the worship of Lord Ganesh with the following mantra:&nbsp;</p>
<p>”Gajaananam Bhoota Ganaadi Sevitam, Kapittha Jambu Phala Saara Bhakshitam. Umaasutam Shoka Vinashakaaranam, Namami Vighneshwar Paada Pankajam.”</p>
<p>After worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh, apply a tilak of red vermilion on their foreheads.<br />After the puja, perform the aarti for Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh, and offer them sweets as a bhog.<br />Distribute the aarti and prasad among all the people.<br />Light lamps in every corner of the house.</p>
