Express Train Collides With Goods Train In Tamil Nadu, 6 Coaches Derail

An express train has collided with a goods rake in Tamil Nadu’s Triuvallur district and six coaches of the passenger train have derailed. 

At least two coaches of the express train have also caught fire and 10 injured people have reportedly been admitted to a hospital nearby. 

Officials said the 12578 Mysore-Darbhanga Bagmati Express collided with the goods train, which was stationary, at Kavaraipettai near Chennai around 8.30 pm on Friday and national and state disaster response force (NDRF and SDRF) teams and ambulances have been rushed to the spot.

According to sources, the crew of the express train experienced a jerk and it entered the loop line and collided with a goods train that was stabled there.
