‘Extremely Pained’: PM Modi Condoles Ratan Tata’s Death, Calls Him ‘Extraordinary Human Being’

<p>Ratan Naval Tata, chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, one of the biggest conglomerates in India, passed away on October 9. As the news of his demise broke out, tributes started pouring in for the philanthropist. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to condole the death of the “visionary business leader” and recalled his interactions with him in Gujarat.</p>
<p>”My mind is filled with countless interactions with Shri Ratan Tata Ji. I would meet him frequently in Gujarat when I was the CM. We would exchange views on diverse issues. I found his perspectives very enriching. These interactions continued when I came to Delhi. Extremely pained by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers in this sad hour. Om Shanti,” he stated in a post on X.</p>
<p>Calling him an “extraordinary human being”, PM Modi said: “Shri Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul and an extraordinary human being. He provided stable leadership to one of India&rsquo;s oldest and most prestigious business houses. At the same time, his contribution went far beyond the boardroom. He endeared himself to several people thanks to his humility, kindness and an unwavering commitment to making our society better.”</p>

<h2>Tata Group’s Chairman Remembers Ratan Tata As ‘Friend, Mentor, Guide'</h2>
<p>The Tata Group also issued an official statement, confirming the loss of their “uncommon leader”. Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran called Ratan Tata his mentor, guide, and friend, who inspired by example.</p>
<p>”It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation,” Chandrasekaran said.</p>
<p>”Ratan Tata was more than a chairperson. To me, he was a mentor, guide and friend. He inspired by example. With an unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation, the Tata Group under his stewardship expanded its global footprint while always remaining true to its moral compass,” the statement read.</p>

<p>Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed “deepest condolences” to Ratan Tata’s family and admirers.</p>
<p>”Saddened by the passing away of Shri Ratan Tata. He was a Titan of the Indian industry known for his monumental contributions to our economy, trade and industry. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace,” Defence Minister posted on X.</p>

<p>Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X to pay his tributes to the legendary industrialist. He offered condolences to the Tata Group and to Ratan Tata’s admirers. Shah highlighted how Tata “selflessly dedicated his life” for the country’s development</p>

<h2>’Unable To Accept His Absence’: Anand Mahindra</h2>
<p>Indian businessman and chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra reacted Ratan Tata’s demise and said that he is unable to accept his absence.</p>
<p>He heaped praises on the late industrialist and credited him for India’s economic position, “which stands on the cusp of a historic leap forward”.</p>
<p>&nbsp;”India&rsquo;s economy stands on the cusp of a historic leap forward. And Ratan&rsquo;s life and work have had much to do with our being in this position. Hence, his mentorship and guidance at this point in time would have been invaluable. With him gone, all we can do is to commit to emulating his example. Because he was a businessman for whom financial wealth and success was most useful when it was put to the service of the global community,” Anand Mahindra stated in a post on X.</p>
